Quilting with your Serger – February 2026

This month is the first part of a two-part project. Part one – February is Quilting with your Serger. We will work with Decorative thread to create Quilted fabric Panels. The Quilted Fabric panels are the perfect place to play with decorative thread and stitches. You can run multiple spools of thread through the Upper, Lower, and Chain Loopers. I’ll demo using a Thread Carrier and the Looper By-Pass for heavy-weight or multiple strands that are too thick to thread through the Port. Next month, we’ll use the Quilted Panels to make fun and practical Zippy Bags.

Techniques this month: Working with Decorative threads, multiple Decorative threads, and Quilting with your Serger: BERNINA L890 and Babylock 8 thread machine – Chain and cover stitch. 4 thread Models, Quilting with two thread Flatlock wide
